A G-Clamp also called as C-Clamp due to it's shape matching with these letters is a basic tool in workshops, constructoin sites and DIY projects. It's simple yet effective design provides temporary holding like Glueing, welding assembly and fixturing.

G clamps are usually specified with their opening dimensions in Inches or MM.
Regular sizes are from 1'' to 12'' or 25mm to 300mm.
These are produced in 2 types of materials. One is by cast Iron steel body and second one is forged steel body. Casted ones are more economical and forged ones are more stronger and high quality. In both types the screw is made from the normal steel along with the handle.
Some G clamps also have Plastic 2 color handles for more easier grip while working.
Manufacturing Process :
The main body is made from casting or Hot Forging.
casted method uses malleable cast iron steel for reasonable strength. While Forging method uses 45 Carbon steel for it's toghness & strength.
After casting or Forging, Trimming is done to eliminate excess material around the body.
The holes are drilled in 1 side of body for fixing screw. Other side works as a fixed clamping Pad. Threading is done in the hole as per the screw thread size.
The screw is made on the CNC machines with accurate threading which is essential for smooth movement for clamping. The handle is made from the steel rods, cut to length. A movable clamping steel pad in fixed on one end of the steel screw.
Body is shot blasted or sand blasted as the case maybe to look smooth surface finish and then it's powder coated or normal painted or sometimes just oiled with antirust oil. Steel screws and handles are zinc plated / chrome plated.
All parts are assembled and quality check is done for surface finish, movement of screw.
After thorough inspection these are packed as per the requirements and shipped to customers.
