A classic hot forged hand sockets is made of high-grade steel, either chromium-vanadium alloy or heat-treated carbon steel, to provide durability and resistance to deformation under pressure. The telescopic handle has varying collapsed sizes of 17–65mm for storage space saving and an extended size  to offer higher leverage. The socket sizes range from 17mm to 22mm to support most passenger cars and light trucks. The torque rating of the tool is usually up to 100–150 Nm to support regular lug nuts. The tool is usually provided with a chrome-plated coating to avoid rusting, while ergonomic grips make it more comfortable to grip.

Heat treatment: The pieces are quenched and then tempered to have the best hardness (45–50 HRC) without losing flexibility.

Assembly: The telescopic portion is equipped with locking devices

Surface finishing: The corrosion is prevented by electroplating with zinc or chromium; rubber grips are incorporated for comfort.

Quality Control: Each socket is subjected to torque resistance, size accuracy, and durability testing under stress. Conformity to the requirements of standards such as ISO 6789 is confirmed.
